Molay Molay

An intimate collection of self-reflections centered on the Molay figure from traditional Bhutanese mask dance.

The exhibition explores themes of identity, patriarchy, motherhood, vulnerability, and cultural conditioning through symbolic and satirical visual language. The Molay figure – a revered character in traditional Bhutanese masked dance performed during Tshechu(festival)-becomes a vehicle for personal and collective introspection, inviting viewers to confront the complexities of gender, power, and selfhood.
